“Thank you for your hard work, see you tomorrow!”
Goodbye after goodbye flooded your ears as you made your way to the exit of the dance studio. Some people left, some lingered.
It was your first time working with MBLAQ as a stage designer, and in your opinion - things went pretty well. Of course no one had to know that you had the biggest crush on Jung Byung Hee, and it was kept that way.
The members were friendly, the discussion covered a good part (without much distractions) and things were on their way. The day could just not get any better, you thought to yourself - when you stepped out of the building to realize it was raining.
Mumbling silent curses, you rummaged your bag for a non-existent umbrella. The nearest bus stop was still quite a distance away, and the shops that were on the way did not really provide much shelter from the downpour.
“Need an umbrella?” A familiar voice caught you off-guard. Turning around in surprise, you smiled at G.O. “Yeah, I do. Wait - why are you still here, didn’t you leave earlier?”

The supposedly-short trip Seung Ho mentioned turned out to be a long one. By the time they returned, both you and G.O had fallen asleep on the couch after long hours of random chatter.
Mir had yelled when he saw you cudlled up in G.O’s arms - earning himself an earful from a tired G.O. Seung Ho seemed the least surprised about the happenings, and you overhead him asking G.O to meet him in his room after dinner.
Dinner was, of course - pizza.
“Are you alright with this?” G.O asked, fluffing a pillow and placing it beside his.
You slipped under the cover beside him, resting on said pillow. “Why not? If I wasn’t - I would have said so during dinner.” You pulled the blanket to cover up to your neck, glancing at G.O and resisting the temptation to shuffle closer.
“I thought you might have not dared to say anything, since Seung Ho sounded so stern.” He places his hand on your forehead lightly, stroking your fringe absent-mindedly.

The sun was setting in the horizon as you sipped a cup of hot chocolate out at the balcony. Usually, the apartment would be empty, but today everyone was lazing inside from the rare off-day they had. Deciding to leave them to their comfort, you opted to watch the sunset to collect some of your thoughts.
Earlier in the day, you had exchanged stories with Mir. The events you told triggered something in your memory - in your heart.
Even thought the conversation had long ended, your heartbeats were skipping. It made you restless, troubled - and even slightly depressed.
Scenes and memories of the first and probably last time you talked to the boy flashed over and over again in your mind. You took another sip of the chocolate. It calmed you slight, if not at all.
Perhaps you should relieve those memories, you thought. Ever since you woke up in this house, you had tried to not let the scenes resurface in your mind. You were scared.
Afraid that seeing him in your memories would cause you to miss him.
Cause you pain, because you would only be able to miss him and never see him again.
Yet, you could not deny that you missed him still.
And wanted to see him - even if it was only in the hidden fragments of you memory.

{ prologue }
“Run. Run and never turn back.”
You reached out for him, gasping, stammering for words.
“You’re hurt.”
He stepped back, and you did not miss the pain in his face as he did so.
“This is nothing. If you don’t leave now, you’ll suffer more than I the pain I am going through now.”
Suddenly, lifting your foot seemed like it was the hardest task in the world.
“Go!” His voice echoed in your ear, making your body shiver more than it already was.
A gunshot rang in the night air, and you watched in horror as the man you came to care for stumbled in front of you. Screaming his name, you staggered forward but stopped in your tracks when he pointed his gun at you.
“Just leave!” You heard his urgent whisper. “Before it’s too late. Don’t waste my efforts! If you get caught now, we’ll both be punished - just go! Now!”
So you ran.
Into the dark, into the shadows of the tall trees.
Away from the only person who bothered about you since your parents’ death.

You rocked back and forth, letting the breeze caress your hair.
Inhaling a lungful of evening spring air, you smiled.
A feeling of being watched dropped gently upon you, and you tilted your head slightly - it was either him, or someone you would not bother being accquainted with.
Footsteps approached you from the back, admist the chatter of the night market.
“You.”
His accusing, deep and unforgettable voice.
“Why did you leave without telling?”

Read more“Here we are.” Seung Ho announced as he pulled into the driveway.
He owned a cozy little house outside the city, different from what you remembered. Stepping into the living room, you smiled at how homely it felt and immediately sank yourself into the sofa.
Seung Ho hung his keys by the entrance and leaned on the doorframe, amused at how quickly you adapted to his home. “I was about to say ‘make yourself at home’, but I guess I didn’t have to.”
Grinning at him, you pat the empty space next to you. “Tell me about you.” He did not bother hiding the surprise on his face, but complied nonetheless.
“I’m a university student, studying majoring in music and minoring in acting. I work part-time at a computer shop down the road, I’m totally single and very available.” He did a little bow, and joined you on the sofa as you giggled. “What about you? You won’t tell me your name, what about where you’re from?”
“It’s a secret.”
